Our annual summer meeting this year was also a celebration of the IWA’s 30th birthday. Members gathered in Y Dosbarth – the Classroom to hear reflections from current and former IWA leaders on their time at the helm of Wales’ only independent think tank. In a panel session chaired by current IWA Director Auriol Miller, Lee Waters AM, John Osmond and Helen Molyneux offered their reflections on the changes they have observed in Wales, the challenges that remain and their hopes for the IWA’s next 30 years.
Looking to the future, Felicity Evans chaired a session with four members of the IWA’s “Next 30”. Originally featured in the Welsh agenda in Spring 2017, the Next 30 are outstanding people nominated as those who will make significant contributions to Wales in the next 30 years. Ali Abdi, Laura Emily Dunn, Nick Evans and Rhian Elizabeth all offered their reflections on the priorities for Wales in the future, and how they hope to contribute to making Wales better.
