The IWA Debates are a new events series from Wales’ leading independent think tank. Each event will focus on a current area of debate where there is no clear consensus. The debate will pit leading figures together to brief the audience on an important issue and explore the key points of contention. The series is sponsored by Aberystwyth University and each event will be followed by a networking reception.
In 2011, the UK Government announced 21 enterprise zones across England. The Welsh Government followed suit with a different approach. There are now seven enterprise zones spread across Wales, each focused on a key target sector.
But are they creating new jobs and sustainable growth? Three years into the policy we will debate ‘Are enterprise zones in Wales working?’
