How can an enlarged Senedd function better for politicians and public alike?

How can an enlarged Senedd function better for politicians and public alike?

With six months to go until Wales goes to the ballot box to elect a reformed Senedd, the IWA and the Electoral Reform Society Cymru welcome you to this new event: Senedd 2.0: Making the most of a changing Parliament.

The event will explore how an enlarged 7th Senedd can function better for politicians and public alike, and whether further reforms will be needed post-2026.

We’ll hear from leading thinkers on democracy in Wales as well as elected representatives with first-hand experience of the Senedd at different stages of its evolution.

This event will pose key questions such as:

  • What are the opportunities for an enlarged Senedd?
  • How can reform lead to better democratic outcomes?
  • How will the Senedd operate differently with 96 Members?
  • How can we use reforms to further diversify political representation in Wales?
  • How can we ensure that an enlarged Senedd results in better scrutiny and stronger legislation?

Join us at the Senedd for this important public conversation on the future of our democracy.

The event is kindly sponsored by Elin Jones MS and supported by the Electoral Reform Society Cymru.
