Asedau Ni – Community Asset Support Service

The IWA is happy to share that we are a part of Asedau Ni, a partnership project with DTA Wales.

From recommendation to action

Asedau Ni is a practical response to recommendations from the Community Assets
Commission, which has called for a ‘Centre of Excellence for Community Assets’ to
improve practice, support learning and bring together expertise from across the public,
private and third sectors.

The need for this kind of coordinated support has been highlighted by research from
the Institute of Welsh Affairs (IWA), which explored the barriers communities face
when trying to access and manage land and local assets, and identified better advice
and guidance as part of the solution.

Asedau Ni brings this ambition into practice through a Wales-wide hub of providing
practical support and expertise, resources and communities learning from
communities – helping communities navigate the challenges of taking on and managing
local assets

Who is it for?

Asedau Ni is a Wales-wide support service and hub for community assets, bringing
together practical support, expertise and resources to help communities take on and
manage the places and assets that matter to them – from community shops, pubs and
village halls to childcare centres, arts spaces, farmland and woodland.

These assets are more than buildings or land – they are places where people meet,
services are provided and local life happens.
