Dr Hade Turkmen from Oxfam Cymru discusses the rising conflicts in the Middle East and calls for Cymru to stand firmly against the expansion of war and the collapse of the rules that protect civilians everywhere.

joined Oxfam Cymru in May 2023, having previously worked at Chwarae Teg, where she led research on gender equality in Wales. She holds a PhD from Cardiff University’s School of Geography and Planning, specialising in urban politics and social movements. She is currently Acting Head of Oxfam Cymru, overseeing the organisation’s strategy in Wales as well as its policy, advocacy, and influencing work to address inequality and promote social justice.
