The Institute of Welsh Affairs will be launching the first report of its ‘Re-energising Wales’ project entitled ‘Funding renewable energy projects in Wales’ in the Senedd’s prestigious Neuadd in Cardiff Bay.
The report provides a platform for leading experts and practitioners to put forward practical ideas for Welsh policymakers to generate policy ideas for consideration by each of the political parties. Investment in renewable energy within Wales will be a key driver in helping to ensure that Wales is able to meet its statutory emission reduction targets as set out in The Environment (Wales) Act 2016.
In the report the IWA makes the case for Wales to actively facilitate more investment in renewable energy projects, including Welsh capital funding; and highlights opportunities that could lead to the development of more investment in renewable energy projects in Wales.
This event will highlight a series of policy recommendations contained within the report and there will be a panel discussion at the launch to debate next steps.
The event is kindly sponsored by David Melding AM.
